Know Your Numbers

This one may seem a little simplistic if understanding ranks and numbers is your thing. But then again, who doesn't like a simple breakdown.  As you grow within your business and rise up ranks, understanding your numbers (PV - Personal Volume, CV - Customer Volume, OGV - Organizational Group Volume, PGV - Personal Group Volume), will greatly help you achieve your desired ranks.

Let's take a look at how you can monitor your numbers to adjust your business strategy throughout the month.  At the beginning of the month you set goals for yourself. In the middle of the month you need to check in to see how you are progressing toward your goals and then make adjustments to meet those goals. For this example, let's say you are currently a Senior Star and are looking to reach the rank of Executive this month.  Here's what you do:

First - Check out the rank sheet below (a more detailed sheet is available at Young Living.  Each rank will show you the amount of CV (Customer Volume) or PV (Personal Volume), OGV (Organizational Volume), and PGV (Personal Group Volume) you will need to qualify for that specific rank.  Now, look at the requirements for Executive.

Executive requires that your OGV be 4,000 with 2 legs each at 1,000.  There isn't any PGV requirement until the ranks of Silver and above. Remember, to qualify for ranks Associate through Executive, you need to have 100 CV. For ranks Silver and above, you need to have 100PV. We highly recommend you are on Loyalty Rewards and have your PV Assist set to 100PV to ensure you never miss out on meeting this requirement, which would result in you losing your commission.

Next - Look at your current OGV in relation to the OGV needed to Rank Executive!  Refer to the graphic below to see how your team is performing at the middle of the month.  With two weeks left to go in the month, you have already processed your 100PV LR order and your team has a total of 2500 OGV.  Leg One has a total of 1500 OGV and Leg two has a total of 700 OGV. You have a third leg building with a total of 200 OGV. The OGV in the third leg counts toward your total overall OGV requirement of 4000 OGV, but you do not need to consider it in the requirement of two legs right now because the OGV is the lowest of the three legs.

With a little math you can see that:

  • 4000 - 2500 = 1500, So you still need another 1500 OGV to qualify for the rank of Executive.

  • Leg One (having 1500 OGV) is well above the 1000 needed, so you are solid here and have met that requirement.

  • Leg Two, however, is at 700 OGV.  So, 1000 - 700 = 300. You need another 300 OGV this legto meet the leg requirement for Executive.

Third - Take the amount of OGV you still need to hit your goal and break it down.

For your overall OGV, you still need 1500 more in volume to meet your overall OGV requirement.   At first you may look at this and think, "That is so much, how am I ever going to get there?" Don't fret.  Let's break this down a little further to show you it's not as difficult as it may feel in this moment.

This is not just about you; this is about your entire team.  Get them involved. Think about how many real brand partners you have in your downline? Say you have 8 awesome brand partners ready to rock their business. Take the 1500 needed OGV and divide it by 8, the number of serious brand partners you have.

1500/8 = 187.50 in volume from each of the 8 brand partners. That definitely looks a lot more palatable, and now your brand partners are involved. Remember, this is helping them grow, too!  If all 8 of your amazing brand partners lock in 187.50 OGV from their growing business, you are on the road to Executive.

"But I don't have brand partners yet!  What do I do then?" I know at least one person reading this is having this thought scream in their head.  I get it. But don't overthink it or let that stop you. You do have customers. Look at active customers, or customers who haven't ordered in a while.... Get a realistic number of how many you have and divide the needed OGV by your number of customers to see how much each customer would need to order for this goal to be met.  I figure about 30% of those people will most likely take advantage of a promotion, and I create a promotion with this number in mind. Run the promotion to entice them to place an order or enroll a new member.

Next - Remember you still have a leg requirement and you have one leg still below 1,000, needing 300 OGV.   This isn't 300 additional in volume that's needed. This 300 is part of the total 1500 you needed to reach Executive.  It's just placement, so be sure you are targeting leaders and/or members from this leg. Growing that one leg follows the same principle as above.  Divide the needed Leg OGV by number of builders in that leg. Say that leg has 4 awesome brand partners:

300 Leg OGV / 4 = 75 OGV per brand partner in that leg.

Woahhh, now that looks even easier!!  Remember from the earlier lessons of building your legs, you can always place your new personal enrollments under this leg to help raise that OGV as well.

Last - Dance and party like its 1999 because you just made it to Executive!! As you grow further up in ranks, the equations will grow. Also, the number of brand partners we have will grow as well, which is why it's important to pass the knowledge and love to them, too!  No one builds this business alone. Lift each other up. Empower one another.

When you break things down into simpler steps and commit to getting your team involved, it becomes easier for others to see just how simple and rewarding this business can be.

Reflect and Process What You Learned:

·      What stood out to you?

·      What is your Rank/OGV Goal(s) for the end of the month? What is needed to get there?

·      What do you and/or each brand partner under you need to bring in to achieve that?

·      How will this bless each of your brand partners?
