Maintain Positive Focus

 
 

There’s no way around it, whether it be in this business or in another area of your life, you are going to have days that challenge you. You will have times where you question what you are doing. We’ve all been there, and on more than one occasion. When this occurs, it's important to allow yourself to feel this way for a short time and then reset your focus.

Focus back on the good, your purpose, the reason why you are doing this, and most importantly, those who you are here to serve.  You may begin this journey for the health of yourself and your family, but it soon spreads as you realize you just can’t keep it to yourself.  And this is what keeps you going. We are here to help others! ​

The more times stop to reset your focus when it gets derailed, the less challenging it becomes. Being able to come back to the present moment and focus on the positive, on the blessings you have, is HUGE.  Like game-changing huge. And it’s not even about this business, it's about life in general. When you focus on the present moment, you can bring yourself out of pretty much anything. Fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, and frustration all stem from not living in the present moment.  Wait, don’t we have an oil for that?! Of course we do! Grab some Present Time! ​

How do you reset your focus?  You count your blessings, you work with intention, you repeat affirmative words, and you leaning into what it is you do WANT.  

You release everything you don’t want. ​

Examples of affirmative and intentional words:

I AM(affirmation) strong(intention).

I AM capable.

I AM successful.

I AM enough. 

I AM healthy.

When you state “I AM,” it puts out what you want to draw in.  The Universe does not hear filler words like "don't" and "not."  So, when you state “I AM,” you always follow it with the positive intention of what you DO want to focus on.

Here’s are some examples of statements that draw in the opposite of what you DO want:

I AM not afraid.

I AM not sick.

I AM not broke.

I AM not going to be working this desk job next year.

I AM not going to fail.

You may think you just set a wonderful intention.   However, because the Universe does not recognize/hear the "NOT," what you are really sending out is:

I AM afraid.

I AM broke.

I AM working this desk job next year.

I AM going to fail.

You MUST to focus on what you WANT, the actual desire.  Positive focus is where you must put your thoughts. Let’s turn the examples above around...

I AM courageous.

I AM financially abundant.

I AM working a job I love.

I AM successful.

Try this tomorrow morning when you wake up.  As soon as you open your eyes, say “I AM happy.”  Or, if you have a hard time waking up to begin with, say “I AM awake!”   Say this throughout the day. If your focus gets taken away from the present moment and you wander on to all the things you may be facing in your day, or tomorrow or the weekend, STOP. Check yourself, take a deep breath, and say “I AM happy.” Or, if you find yourself slumping in energy (before you grab your Ningxia or peppermint), say “I AM awake”.

Want to kick it up a notch?  

Write down your intentions each morning before getting up out of bed.  When you put a pen to paper and write something down, you sign a contract with the Universe and it conspires to make it happen, because you intend it to.  It may sound silly if you aren’t used to thinking this way, and that’s totally okay! Try it on. If it fits, wear it. If it doesn’t, don’t. You can also write down your intentions that you intend to keep for a month, year, etc. and put this list where you can see it: a mirror, wall, cell phone or computer home screen, forehead (ok, maybe not there), but anywhere that you will be looking at quite a bit throughout your day.  Keep reminders of intentions to keep your focus on the good!

Start your day with positive focus, with intention, and with what you WANT.  Release what you don’t. That which does not serve us does not have room in our dreams, in our why, and in our passion.
